Taxco

This magic colonial town with white walls and red roofs is considered as the capital of the Mexican silver, located in the northern part of the State of Guerrero, is a town whose singular geography gives you an interesting and mystic aspect, where those who visit it get the impression that they have stepped back in time, because its architecture recalls the splendor of those colonial places and periods. Is in this period that arises the romance between Taxco and its mining; was in the year 1528 when “Tetelcingo”, was establish as the first mining camp, together with those of “Cantarranas” and “Tenango” and formed in 1570 “Real de Minas de Taxco” and burst the first mineral of Latin America. The exploitation of their rich veins of silver and other minerals made it into one of the most important mining centers of the New Spain. In the eighteenth century of those three camps only the one of Tetelcingo achieved a singular population and formed what is now current Taxco.
